04 / INTERNAL QUALITY SYSTEM

Control starts
with the brief

BRF applies internal controls around each customer requirement — from drawing review and material selection to process checkpoints, inspection evidence and accountable release

QUALITY / INSPECTION PLANNING

Measure what matters

Match the measurement method to the critical dimension, form, surface and function, from first article through in-process checks and final release

Measure what matters
01

Micrometers, bore gauges & limit gauges

Shaft diameters, bearing bores, widths and mating sizes; select range and resolution for the tolerance

02

Vision measurement & optical comparator

Small profiles, hole spacing, slots and stamped outlines; optical access and edge definition must suit the feature

03

Coordinate measuring machine (CMM)

Datum-based position, flatness and perpendicularity of housings and complex parts, with a defined fixture and measurement strategy

04

Roundness / cylindricity instrument

Form of shafts, sleeves and bearing rings; use a dedicated form measurement method where the drawing requires it

05

Runout fixture & dial indicator

Radial and face runout relative to a defined datum; a runout reading alone does not establish roundness or straightness

06

Surface roughness tester

Ra / Rz of bearing seats, journals and roller surfaces, using the drawing-defined filtering and evaluation settings

07

Hardness & material verification

Rockwell or Vickers testing where appropriate; verify material certificates and specify composition or coating tests when required

08

Bearing clearance, torque & vibration

For assembled rolling bearings where specified: radial/axial clearance, starting or running torque, and noise/vibration under defined test conditions

CMM and vision measurement

A drawing-led inspection plan

Define critical features → select instruments and fixtures → verify first article → inspect during production → record release evidence; use suitable calibrated equipment and agree sampling and acceptance limits for the programme

THE OPERATING PRINCIPLE

Make every requirement
visible and reviewable

A controlled outcome begins with a controlled conversation. Our internal system turns the customer brief into a practical sequence of responsibilities, checks and records

01

Requirement capture

Drawing revision, material, finish, tolerance and critical features are clarified before the route is agreed

02

Process checkpoints

Key operations, first-piece checks and inspection points are defined around the part and its production route

03

Evidence & release

Relevant inspection evidence, open points and release decisions are kept visible to the responsible people

BRF / QUALITY ROUTE

A disciplined path for
every production conversation

01Customer briefDrawing, material, tolerance, finish, volume and delivery requirement
02Engineering reviewManufacturing questions, key features and practical route are made visible
03Control planOperations and inspection checkpoints are planned around the agreed scope
04Accountable releaseRelevant records and open points support the release decision

QUALITY ASSURANCE CONTROLS

Built into the route
kept visible in the work

BRF applies internal quality practices through documented working methods, responsibility, review points and records. The controls used for each programme are confirmed around the customer requirement and manufacturing route

01IPQC / CHECKPOINTS

In-process inspection points

Key operations and inspection points are identified around the agreed part and production route

02MEASUREMENT / CALIBRATION

Measurement control

Relevant QC tools and calibration checks are organised to support reliable measurement activity

03SUPPLIER REVIEW

Supplier qualification & appraisal

Supplier material and process inputs can be reviewed against the needs of the customer programme

04SAMPLING / VERIFY

Sampling inspection planning

Sampling and verification methods are selected where they suit the part, risk and agreed requirement

05FEEDBACK / ACTION

Customer feedback follow-up

Questions, complaints and changes are routed into a visible review and corrective-action loop

06FIRST ARTICLE

First article & pre-production review

Early output can be reviewed before the route moves into repeat or higher-volume production

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS / 2026

Climate action
kept visible

BRF has joined the SME Climate Hub commitment community. This commitment reflects our intention to build practical climate awareness into the way the company grows, operates and works with its partners

QUALITY STARTS WITH CLARITY

Share the requirement
we will map the controls

Send a drawing, revision, material, tolerance, finish and target volume. BRF will define the review path and controls that can be applied before a formal quotation or production commitment
